Moscow calls on Washington to eliminate its chemical arsenal

Washington, SANA- Russian embassy in Washington called on the US to eliminate its chemical arsenal, noting that Moscow has eliminated its weapons of this form few years ago.

“The local media outlets continue to repeat the hateful accusations that the US administration is spreading against our country for alleged violation of the Chemical Convention, in addition to officials, journalists also speak without evidence about the arsenal of chemical weapons that they claim we still maintain and plan to use in Ukraine.”, RT website quoted the Embassy as saying in a comment published on its Telegram channel on Friday.

The embassy stressed that Russia completely destroyed chemical weapons in 2017, and this fact was stressed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), pointing out that the US, not Russia, is the only country participating in the Chemical Weapons Convention that has not yet disposed of its stockpiles of toxic war materials.
