Damascus, SANA- the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, started on Sunday training a number of engineers and agricultural experts from different Arab nationalities including Syria to produce, characterize of grain crops and assessment of mineral elements in soil and water.
The Arab Center for Studies of Dry Areas and Dry Lands (ACSAD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, began this morning training thirty engineers and agricultural experts from Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Libya, Tunisia, Iraq and Mauritania on the production, characterization, and accreditation mechanisms of grain crops and the assessment of mineral elements in soil and water.
ACSAD Director Dr. Nasr El-Din El-Obeid stressed that this training finds good opportunities for exchanging information between Arab grain and wheat experts and scientists, which will positively reflect on the efforts of Arab countries to narrow the gap between the increasing levels of production and consumption as a result of population growth. He added that the training also aims to improve the level of scientific competence, Theoretical and practical for trainees in the fields of wheat production, improving agricultural soil fertility and modernizing production methods in Arab countries, benefiting from the experiences of ACSAD.
