Syria, DPRK to bolster economic ties

Damascus, (SANA) Activities of the 9th session of the Syrian-DPRK joint economic committee kicked off Wednesday.

Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mshaweh, who heads the Syrian side to the committee meetings, underscored the necessity of boosting economic , cultural, scientific, media and technical ties between the two countries.

Syria has been under an unfair economic blockade for three years, the minister said, the same that North Korea suffered from which, she says, points to numerous common denominators between the two friendly countries.

“Syria is well on its way to recovery thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian army,” added minister Mshaweh, indicating that the reconstruction process has already kicked into gear.

She stressed the necessity of carrying out investments in the research, scientific, technical and technological fields between the two friendly countries.

The minister hailed the stances of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in support of just Arab causes and its support to the people in Syria in its battle against terrorism.

DPRK Minister of Foreign Trade, who is head of the DPRK delegation, Ri Ryong Nam expressed readiness to help in economic and industrial projects and bolstering bilateral relations.

He affirmed that the Syrian people will be victorious in the battle against terrorism despite the US conspiracies.
