With participation of Syria, an extra-ordinary session of the World Health Assembly starts activities

Damascus, SANA- With the participation of Syria, a 3-day special session of the World Health Assembly, which is held in Geneva, began its activities on Monday.

Syria, represented by a delegation headed by Minister of Health Hassan al-Ghabash participate in the meeting virtually, while deputy chairman of the delegation, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Hossam El-Din Ala, attends in Geneva.

The special session will discuss several issues, including considering developing a WHO convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic preparedness and response.
