National Dialogue Committee: Need for intensifying efforts to stop terrorism

Damascus, SANA-Syrian National Dialogue Committee’s delegation, who has recently returned from Russia, called Monday for intensifying the international efforts to stop terrorism and press Syria’s neighboring countries that facilitate the flow of terrorists into Syria, to close their borders.

At a press conference following a meeting with Ramzi Ramzi, the UN Deputy Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura, the delegation called for the importance of engaging all national powers and parties inside Syria in the political dialogue.

Secretary General of the People’s Party, Sheikh Nawaf al-Milhim, said that talks during the meeting with Ramzi dealt with de Mistura’s initiative to freeze fighting in Aleppo and ways to make it a success.

For her part, Secretary General of the National Youth Party for Justice and Development, Parwen Ibrahim affirmed that the delegation briefed Ramzi on the viewpoints of the national opposition sides, adding “we have called on the UN to condemn Israel and its violations of the Syrian sovereignty.”

The Syrian National Dialogue Committee’s delegation which visited Moscow between December 7 and 15 comprised national opposition parties, the Syrian Notational Socialist Party, al-Baath Arab Socialist Party and a number of MPs.
