Damascus, SANA An advanced course for the IT engineers and technicians of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on the Linux computer operating system and the Apache web server started on Wednesday.
The course was organized by SANA in cooperation with the Syrian Computer Society (SCS).
Hussam Abed of the SCS, the course’s supervisor, said the course aims at imparting to the trainees the required skills and expertise for managing SANA website, particularly that the site is operated by servers running Linux and Apache systems.
Abed pointed out that the course includes 35 training hours on Linux system and 40 hours on Apache server.
Linux is an operating system. It is the software on a computer that enables applications and the computer operator to access the devices on the computer to perform desired functions.
The Apache HTTP Server is the world’s most widely- used Web server software. It was originally based on the NCSA HTTPd server.
