DR. Mhanna added that the effects of the sanctions don’t stop at the domain of securing the spare parts and developing the devices , but they also affect supplying the medicines for the chronic diseases and hinder securing them which caused during the last period lack and loss of some medicines specialized for the patients of cancer , kidney failure, diabetes and multiple sclerosis (MS).

In the Martyr Zaid al-Shareiti National Hospital in Sweida city ,the medical Director and the Head of Hematology Division Dr. Mu’anes Abu Mansour, stressed that the years of war and terrorism haven’t prevent the hospital from performing its duties despite the increased difficulties and the siege.

Dr. Mu’anes referred that the so called “Caesar Act” threatens so many of the medical equipment in the hospital whose work may suspend due to the difficulty of its maintenance and securing its spare parts such as the radiography and resuscitation devices in operations rooms, not to talk about the difficulty of supplying some medicines such as the medicines for the cancer patients as well as the medicines for multiple sclerosis and insulin and the laboratory supplies.
