China reaffirms necessity of stopping Turkish offensive on Syrian territory

New York, SANA- China’s Permanent Representative to the UN  Zhang Jun affirmed that the Turkish offensive on the Syrian territories poses a threat to the security and stability in the region and the world as a whole, underlining the necessity of stopping that aggression and respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Zhang , in statements to journalists after a session of the Security Council on Wednesday, warned that the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories might lead to the return of Daesh (ISIS)terrorists in a way that poses a threat to the security and stability in Syria, the region and the world as a whole.

He underlined necessity of stopping the Turkish aggression and adhering to the principles of the UN Charter and the international laws and norms, asserting his country’s rejection of using force in the international relations.

In a brief statement on Wednesday, the International Security Council affirmed that the Turkish offensive on the Syrian territories undermines security and stability in the region and increases the suffering of the civilians and displacement of large numbers of them, in addition to hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to them.
