Sixteen ambulances granted to SARC by Japanese people

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC)on Thursday received from the World Health Organization (WHO) 16 ambulances granted by the Japanese government and people.

Speaking to SANA, SARC chief Khaled Habboubati expressed appreciation over the Japanese people’s initiative in supporting the emergency system in SARC in order to be in high readiness and cover all the Syrian territories.

He indicated that the number of the ambulances has increased to 110 after sixteen-vehicle grant.

For her part, resident representative of World Health Organization (WHO) in Damascus Elizabeth Hoff said that the grant will support the health sector and enable SARC to provide emergency services, especially in areas in need in order to rescue more lives.
