Cuban Parliament’s President reiterates his country’s standing by Syria

Havana, SANA- President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Cuba’s Parliament Esteban Lazo Hernandez reaffirmed his country’s standing by Syria in its war against terrorism and in defending its sovereignty and its territorial integrity and in its adherence to its independent national decision, and its rejection of the foreign interference in its internal affairs.

Meeting Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mayya at the headquarters of Cuba’s Parliament on Friday, Lazo underlined necessity of enhancing parliamentary relations between the two countries including the exchange of official visits and whatever would contribute to further developing the bilateral relations in all domains.

Lazo noted that the Cuban people are proud of the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism, expressing confidence that Syria will win the war against terrorism.

For his part, Ambassador Mayya said that Syria is writing the final chapter of the war against terrorism which has been waged against it from about eight years thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army and the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of terrorist organizations.

He underlined the importance of enhancing relations between the parliaments of the two countries including the coordination between them at the international conferences in the best interests of the two friendly peoples and countries.
