Moscow: Consultations underway to lift unilateral economic sanctions on Syria

Moscow, SANA – Russian Foreign Ministry stated that consultations are underway with a number of regional and international countries to lift the unilateral economic sanctions imposed on Syria.

Foreign Ministry representative, Burtsev Nikolay, was quoted by Sputnik news agency as saying that the Russian Foreign Ministry continues active work with foreign partners to lift economic sanctions on Syria and provide humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, as well as with international organizations on recovering terror-affected infrastructure in Syria.

Regarding the return of displaced Syrians to the homeland, Nikolay highlighted some states’ readiness to cooperate with Russia in this regard like Lebanon.

White Helmets’ members revealed their true nature and hypocrisy

In a relevant context, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that White Helmets members, who were smuggled and evacuated from Syria, have revealed their true nature and hypocrisy to the entire world.

“It is symbolic that the White Helmets’ activists have opted to flee Syria with foreign support thus revealing their true nature and exposing their hypocrisy to the whole world,” said the ministry.

It noted that the White Helmets organization’s activities were on territories controlled by extremists and staged fake scenes in order to be used as pretexts for making accusations against the Syrian army.
