Damascus, SANA-Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh was reelected to a second term in office in elections held during a session convened Wednesday.
As per the Assembly’s statute, the Assembly’s bureau elections are held annually, and its term shall extend for one year and is to be reelected during the Assembly’s first session after the expiry of its term.
“We need to perceive the scope of our responsibilities and keep in mind that no matter how much efforts we put in service of people, people deserve more, and Syria’s future deserves more,” Sabbagh said in an address following his reelection.
